We're going to space

Lux Labs has been awarded a grant from the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS) to conduct an experiment on the International Space Station (ISS). The goal of our experiment is to improve the understanding of the physics of multilayer polymer formation and the crystallization process. An improved understanding will help us determine better methods to fabricate more durable films that have advanced optical and mechanical properties, as well as benefit the broader, multi-billion dollar polymer industry. CASIS, collaborating with NASA, will take our samples to the ISS where astronauts will conduct the experiment. We will run a control experiment on Earth's surface. Takeoff is scheduled for mid-2019.
